Portfolio Update: Monster Week, Same rules apply - Manage your mindset, Manage your risk.
Our portfolio had a MONSTER +18.72% week. CRWD kept running, RDDT bounced, NOK joined the account, and our IGV call is now up 95%. This week is all about risk management.
Good Morning Primates,
Another Monday, another receipt.
Last week, the goal was simple: show the portfolio, show the wins, show the losses, and keep the record public.
This week, the receipts got louder.
The portfolio returned +18.72% over the past week. Not the past Month, or Year, but this past WEEK!
Portfolio value is now $5,458.11
Open unrealized P&L is +$1,164.
=+27% YTD
That is the kind of week every public portfolio wants to screenshot before the market changes its mind.
Now it’s important that we don’t get too excited and that we manage our temperament..
Looking at the charts this Morning, almost all of our positions are flying out of the gate. We’ll be looking to move stop losses and trim when it makes sense.
Because we still have exposure to CRWD through our IGV call, we will be selling our CRWD position today. It’s been a hell of a run; there’s no need to take on unnecessary risk into earnings. It’s likely that CRWD crushes earnings but we’re happy to take the profit and find another entry point later on.
ONCE AGAIN - Sell CRWD today if you’re following along.
Important note - we added $1,000 cash to the account. & we’ll be doing another cash injection later this Month. We realize that the majority of our readers have more than $5,000 to play with so the moves aren’t that exciting when the account goes up $1,000 . That being said, it’s all about the percentage gains that matter…
But we want to make this relatable, educational and slightly entertaining for when things go south.
The account is still concentrated, still tech-heavy, and still very exposed to software, cybersecurity, AI infrastructure, and internet platforms.
That is intentional.
The goal is not to build the world's most boring mini-index. The goal is to build a public portfolio where every position has a reason, every mistake has a receipt, and every win has to survive the next review.
So far, so good!
Help Us Make This More Useful
We want these portfolio updates to be more than just screenshots and victory laps.
If you are reading this, DM us and tell us what would make these updates more useful for you.
Would you want more detail on why we bought each position? More charts? More entry/exit rules? A watchlist section? A simple scorecard for every holding? More mistakes and lessons learned? Less explanation and more straight receipts?
We are building this in public, so reader feedback actually matters. If something would help you understand the portfolio better, steal fewer ideas blindly, or make smarter decisions with your own money, tell us.
DM us or reply with one thing you want added to next week’s portfolio update.
Cheers,
-Primate
